On Valentine’s Day, February 14th, 2021, we extended love beyond words by distributing thoughtfully curated care packages to orphanage homes across Lagos. Each package was intentionally filled with essential non-perishable food items, toiletries, and school stationery — practical gifts designed to meet immediate needs while reminding every child that they are seen, valued, and loved. Our team visited Royal Diamond Orphanage in Ojodu Berger, Divine Heritage Center in Ikorodu, Living Fountain Orphanage in Victoria Island, and Tower of Refuge Motherless Home in Surulere, ensuring that children from different parts of the city felt the warmth of community. This outreach not only met physical needs but also brought joy, hope, and encouragement to the caregivers and children who work daily to overcome significant challenges. It was a meaningful way to transform a day often associated with romantic love into a demonstration of compassion, unity, and support for some of the most vulnerable children in our society.

What is the Spread the Love Campaign?

The Spread the Love Campaign is an outreach initiative created to share compassion, kindness, and practical support with vulnerable children across Lagos. Launched on Valentine’s Day, the campaign transforms the season of love into an opportunity to uplift orphanage homes by providing carefully curated care packages filled with essential food items, toiletries, and school stationery. Through visits to homes such as Royal Diamond Orphanage in Ojodu Berger, Divine Heritage Centre in Ikorodu, Living Fountain Orphanage in Victoria Island, and Tower of Refuge Motherless Home in Surulere, the campaign ensures that children feel valued, supported, and remembered. More than a one-day event, Spread the Love is a movement that embodies community, generosity, and hope — reminding every child that they are deserving of love and dignity.

Why It Matters?

Providing Essential Support

The Spread the Love Campaign ensures that orphanage homes receive vital supplies such as food items, toiletries, and school stationery. These essentials ease the daily pressures on caregivers and help create a more stable, nurturing environment for the children they serve.

Emotional Uplift to Vulnerable Children

Many children in these homes have faced loss, trauma, or abandonment. Our visits and care packages offer more than material help — they provide moments of joy, encouragement, and reassurance that each child is seen, valued, and deeply loved.

Strengthening Community Connection

This initiative transforms Valentine’s Day into a collective act of kindness, inspiring individuals and partners to engage in meaningful giving. It encourages community members to step forward, support vulnerable children, and cultivate a culture of empathy and shared responsibility.

Inspiring Long-Term Change

By highlighting the needs of orphanage homes across Lagos, the campaign shines a light on the daily challenges these children face. This awareness sparks conversations, motivates further support, and helps build long-term momentum toward improving social infrastructures and child welfare.
