We believe entrepreneurship isn’t just about business — it’s about empowerment, creativity, and building sustainable futures. The Upcycle Fempreneurs programme is our initiative to support aspiring and existing women entrepreneurs — especially young African women — who want to build meaningful businesses while giving back to the community and planet. Upcycle Fempreneurs is a skills-building and resource-sharing programme that empowers women to create and grow small businesses. Whether your passion is designing, crafting, upcycling, or launching any venture, this programme offers you guidance, education, and a community — giving you the tools you need to succeed and scale.

What is Upcycle Fempreneurs?

Upcycle Fempreneurs is an empowerment programme designed to introduce young women aged 15–21 to the world of sustainability, the circular economy, and social entrepreneurship. Through hands-on learning, creative upcycling projects, and mentorship from experienced women entrepreneurs, participants discover how to turn everyday materials into meaningful products — and meaningful impact. The programme helps them build confidence, develop practical business skills, and understand how sustainable innovation can open doors to economic opportunity and community transformation.

Why It Matters?

Bridging the digital divide

In an age where environmental and social challenges are real, Upcycle Fempreneurs encourages businesses built on creativity, recycling, upcycling, and sustainability. This helps participants build responsible ventures that contribute positively to society and environment.

Addressing barriers to entry

Many women face systemic obstacles when starting a business: lack of guidance, limited access to capital or networks, and minimal support. Upcycle Fempreneurs removes those barriers by offering mentorship, peer community and practical business education.

Empowerment through skills

Through business ownership, women can gain financial independence, build confidence, and influence positive change in their communities. This aligns with global efforts to increase women’s participation in entrepreneurship and close gender gaps.

Community & Belonging

Upcycle Fempreneurs isn’t a one-off course — it’s a sisterhood. Women supporting women: sharing experiences, collaborating, learning together, and lifting each other up
