The evidence is clear: gender equality is critical to business performance and sustainable economic growth globally. According to the United Nations, unleashing the full potential of women and girls could add more than $12 trillion dollars to global GDP, drive significant positive impacts on business productivity and the bottom line, and support families and communities around the world. However, did you know that women from underrepresented communities (such as orphanages and foster home communities) are missing in most corporate jobs and professions? For example, focusing on professions in the technology sector, TechCrunch cites only 9% of Apple employees, 4% of Facebook employees, and <4% of Google employees are women. These numbers reduce significantly when we focus on the metrics for women from challenging backgrounds.
When you register to be a sponsor of an orphan’s needs, we will send you a welcome pack with a photo of the girl you are sponsoring and a little bit about her so you can see her grow and thrive. We will set up virtual conversations and checkpoint calls with you and their guardian throughout the year, as your schedule permits. You will learn about her aspirations, her personality and have the opportunity to develop a relationship with her. We will explore providing detailed updates about how she is progressing. You can also write to the orphan that you sponsor. Over time, we might be able to coordinate an in-person meeting as a special milestone to commemorate your orphan sponsorship.
We provide resources for the personal growth and leadership development of female orphans who reside indifferent parts of Africa, including academic scholarships, school uniforms, textbooks, notebooks and stationery.
We partner with healthcare centers, doctors, nurses, dentists and optometriststo provide routine health check ups as well as pharmacists to fund their required medication.
We provide non-perishable food items with long shelf life, as well as hot cooked food during celebratory seasons (Easter, Christmas, Birthdays). We aim to partner with supermarkets and farmers to ensure food security for the orphan community and homeless children in rural neighborhoods.
We work with architects and interior designers for the refurbishment, construction, rebuilding, or rehabilitation of social infrastructures such as orphanages, homes and existing shelters where children who have been abandoned, orphaned, victims of abuse, neglect, and of abuse, neglect, and tragedy currently reside.
Our aim is to create an environment that feels like home, and that can cultivate theirleadership potential, as well as break the cycle of stunted growth and development. For homeless children,we work with authorities to find shelter, and provide warm clothing, blankets and ointments to keep themwarm in the interim. We also provide resources for personal hygiene including sanitary towels, toothpaste andtoothbrush, soap and shower gel, sponges, towels, and deodorant.
Orphan Sponsorship is one of the most transformative ways we support vulnerable children, and girls like Chidera are living proof of its impact. Through consistent financial support, mentorship, and a safe environment, sponsorship provides the stability every child deserves, stability that allows her to dream, learn, and grow confidently. For girls who have faced abandonment, trauma, or loss, this support becomes a lifeline. It restores dignity, nurtures self-worth, and opens doors to education, leadership development, and long-term opportunity. By investing in Chidera’s journey, and many others like hers, sponsors help break the cycle of stunted growth and empower the next generation of young female leaders to rise, thrive, and rewrite their stories with hope.
